Notes: Hickory Flat was able to narrowly escape with the victory to advance to the 1A North Half quarterfinals. They might’ve won the game but they knew they had just survived a battle. This game was also loaded with stats. Camri Westmoreland (6-2 ’24 C Hickory Flat 14 pts 2-2 ft 22 reb 5 blk) earned Player of the game honors with her big 22 boards and a fingertip block to save the game. Anna Rose Work (5-6 ’24 SF Hickory Flat 12 pts 3 3’s 10 reb 1 ast 5 st 1 charge taken) posted a double-double to help the Lady Rebels while Chasity Davis (5-6 ’25 G Hickory Flat 12 pts 2 three 3-4 ft 8 reb 1 ast 7 st) had a near triple-double.

I’m putting 1A Girls on notice! Okolona is about to be trouble for the next four or five years if they keep this group together. The eighth grader, Riley Boone (5-7 ’28 G/F Okolona 19 pts 18 reb 3 ast 6 st) had a crazy game against one of the better experienced post players in Northeast MS. Prommyss Small (5-5 ’26 G Okolona 9 pts 7 reb 3 ast 5 st 1 blk) and Sanaa Chandler (’26 G Okolona 19 pts 2 3’s 6 reb 3 ast) both had solid games in the losing effort. Okolona also started a seventh grader that played the entire game. Neely Buchanan (5-5 ’29 G Okolona 7 pts 2 3’s 3 reb 3 ast 5 st) not only started and played but produced solid numbers in an intense game.
