Stats are from the official scorebook.
(G) Lafayette Lady Commodores 4-3 (5A Oxford, MS) 45
Saltillo Lady Tigers 2-3 (6A Saltillo, MS) 42
Notes: Caroline Kelley (5-7 ’26 G Lafayette) paced a very balanced Lafayette team as they held on to get the victory.
This Saltillo team is a very improved team. Mariah Gerzon (5-10 ’27 SF Saltillo) played tough in the paint to lead her team.

(B) Saltillo Tigers 4-0 (6A Saltillo, MS) 54
Lafayette Commodores 5-2 (5A Oxford, MS) 50
Notes: Crayden Shannon (6-0 ’27 G/F Saltillo) and Eli Shannon (5-7 ’28 G Saltillo) connected on a back door And 1 play to help get the win at the end of the game. The younger brother hit Crayden at the perfect moment to push the Tigers to victory. These two will be tough as they develop together with a young Saltillo team. Jamarian James (5-10 ’26 G Saltillo) provided defensive energy off the bench and was a spark on the offensive end with his shooting.
Lafayette has several nice looking seniors for next level coaches to check out. Jaylan Campbell (6-6 ’25 F/C Lafayette) works hard around the basket and scores multiple ways in the paint. Walker Starnes (6-3 ’25 G/F Lafayette) is a knock down shooter with good length. They have him listed at 6-3 but he looks way taller due to his long and lanky frame. He really impressed me with his play. Shun Flemons (6-1 ’25 G Lafayette) is a strong bodied swiss army knife guard. He just goes out and does a little bit of everything. These 3 guys should be targets for next level coaches to check out this season. All three have the ability to keep playing basketball after high school.
