Northeast Mississippi Community College (North)
7:00 Region 1 #3 Wheeler (20-12) #5 travels 8 miles vs Region 1 #2 Thrasher (26-5) #3 travels 5 miles
This is the rubber match game for these two teams. Wheeler won at Thrasher and Thrasher won at Wheeler. Let’s meet in the middle of the county and have a neutral site showdown to see which team is better (on this night). Both teams are really good and deserve to be in this spot while being ranked in the top 5 in 1A girls. The style of play favors Thrasher in the Northeast gym. From what I can tell, Wheeler is 0-1 at NE this year with that being a game they should’ve won. I think Thrasher is 1-1 there but their loss was to Booneville. I’m rolling with Thrasher to make it to Jackson.

Biggersville took the number 1 1A girls ranking back over today on MaxPreps from Okolona. They are both easily deserving of that spot but there can only be one. Okolona is going to play in Biggersville country and that usually doesn’t work out too well for the opposing team. I’m taking Biggersville to win in the 15 point range. Their depth will win out in this one.

7:00 Region 7 #1 Taylorsville (20-13) #8 travels 72 miles vs Region 6 #1 McAdams (20-10) #10 travels 85 miles
This should be a very good ball game. I see Taylorsville edging out McAdams in a close one.
4:00 Region 5 #1 Simmons (27-0) #4 travels 94 miles vs Region 8 #1 Lumberton (22-4) #6 travels 122 miles
Simmons is just too good. I see them getting a comfortable win to make it to the Big House.
