FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21
Northeast Mississippi Community College (North)
8:30 Region 1 #1 Baldwyn (20-6) #3 travels 12 miles vs Region 4 #1 West Union (26-5) #1 travels 43 miles
This one is tough to pick here. Baldwyn ended the season last year for West Union so they have revenge on the mind. Baldwyn has the best top 7/8 in 1A. West Union has the best 1-2 punch in 1A with Morrisson and Conlee. The inside, outside punch is hard to beat. A team is hard to handle when they have the best post player and best guard around. I’m closing my eyes and taking West Union in a legendary close game.
5:30 Region 3 #1 Coffeeville (21-6) #4 travels 105 miles vs Region 1 #2 Biggersville (19-9) #5 travels 12 miles
Biggersville has the best starting 5 in 1A. Coffeeville has the most electric scorer in 1A. These “big 4” made it to the final 4 in the north as expected. Coffeeville is playing in the back yard of Biggersville and I don’t see Coach Cliff Little let this one slip by him. I’m taking Biggersville to make the trip to Jackson.

8:30 Region 5 #3 Shaw (18-9) #2 travels 114 miles vs Region 6 #1 Velma Jackson (15-8) #7 travels 61 miles
Shaw bolted up the MaxPreps rankings with some really good wins in the playoffs. The 3 seed has finally started playing and I don’t see them dropping this game. How about another game for the “Road Warriors”. The next trip will be to the Coliseum.

Simmons gets the solid win to make another appearance in Jackson.
