These two teams are neck and neck with title games and titles. This is a rematch from a thriller last season. Booneville was able to sneak away with the win. Booneville is going for the near impossible 4 peat. I will say this, Booneville is not the same team they were last year and they seem to be a little down from last year. But so does Coahoma County. This team does not look like your normal Coahoma team. They appear to be a little down also. Coahoma looks like a young and inexperienced team playing with toughness and defensive grit. Booneville looks like a team that has been playing bored and complacent all season but they are very skilled. With all of these negatives they are still the best 2 teams in 3A and both teams defeated the next best teams closest to them. The County got by Edwards with a defensive stop. Booneville blew past Tunica at home. No team has played Booneville to within double digits since mid December until the north half’s quarters. East Webster finally pushed those buttons and Booneville was actually in a game they could lose. They wasable to pull it out by 8 but they finally showed me what they have been missing. They showed toughness and hunger for the first time this year. If Booneville can play with that same toughness and hunger I see them getting a low to mid double-digit victory.
