Elite Rockets (0-3) MS

Bryan Steen 6-6 ’20 F/C Charleston: Bryan hit the boards hard. He scored on multiple moves around the paint and stepped out to show his range with an 18 footer.

Hoop City Elite (5-1) TN

Bruce Guy 6-5 ’19 G/F Houston HS (TN):  He looked good the entire weekend. He stepped up on several occasions and took games over to guarantee his team the victory.

Malik Riddle 6-4 ’18 SG Rossville Christian (TN): Big congrats on another former Mississippi players going D1. The former Marshall Academy guard committed to Morehead State this weekend.

Joe Johnson HAWKS (4-1) AR

Justice Hill 6-0 ’19 PG Little Rock Christian (AR): The Arkansas commit looked really good over the weekend. He played with that it factor showing while he is going to the SEC. He played high level defense. He surprised the crowd with a highlight reel alley he caught on a break.

Louisiana Elite (3-1) LA

Dee Wash 6-4 ’19 SG Sunrise Christian Academy (KS) Canton: Dee impressed the crowd the whole weekend with his high flying dunks. The former Canton shooter did exactly that and shot the ball well. He is really starting to step his game up and I will be looking for his to game to blossom even more at Sunrise.

Memphis Bulls (1-2) TN

Latrell Carter 6-7 ’19 F/C Whitehaven HS (TN): Carter showed some versatility this weekend with the Bulls having a 6-8 post to man the paint. He stepped out and played a stretch 4 role by knocking down several three’s. He also did a lot of ball-handling for his team.

Memphis Prep (4-1) TN

Memphis Prep actually went undefeated on the scoreboard but lost a forfeit game due to jersey issues.

Memphis Prep Gold (4-2) TN

Rashe France 6-4 ’18 G/F Mitchell HS (TN) Southaven: It was my first time catching him play since fall of 2017. He has developed really well and would be a great addition to JUCO rosters.

Memphis Royals (1-2) TN

Dionte “D.A.” Anding 5-10 ’19 G Southwind HS (TN): He’s got that dawg in him. He played at an extremely high level on defense. He wanted to guard the best the players on the other team. He played very good off-ball and help-side defense. His scoring separated him apart too. I watched him have a 54 point game. He hit 9 three’s and knocked down 19 free-throws. He has extended range and can get his shot off whenever he wants to. He gets to the free-throw line easy and shoots them at a high percentage.

Starkville Elite (2-2) MS

The Starkville Elite represented Mississippi well in the tournament. They came up just short of beating Team Thad but ran out of gas in the closing minutes. It was a close game in the closing minutes and Thad was able to pull away. Below is a video of the game tying shot of Talley to go into overtime.

Tyler Talley 5-10 ’19 G Starkville HS: Talley looked really good all weekend. He knocked down shots from outside and scored when he got in the lane. He scored the game tying basket to send one of the games into overtime and took control to get the overtime win.

Edzerick “Zeke” Cook 6-4 ’20 F/C Starkville HS: Really big weekend for the sophomore playing up. He went toe-to-toe with some of the best bigs at the event. He hustles on the defensive end. His offensive game is starting to thrive. He uses a variety of moves around the paint to score. He will be a good one to keep an eye on this season.

Makaylon “Bam” Patterson 6-1 ’19 G Eupora HS: He really stepped his game up this weekend. He defended hard and was a real strong offensive help for his team.

Jamarrion Brown 6-0 ’19 G Starkville HS: He hit big shot after big shot this weekend. He was a dangerous threat from deep.

Team Carroll Premier (5-0) AL

Caleb Fields 6-0 ’19 PG Aspire Academy (KY) Lewisburg, TN: One of my favorite Team Carroll players. He’s a strong point that plays with that dawg mentality. The powerhouse finishes great around the basket.

Dmitry Rivny 6-8 ’18 G/F Central Park Christian (AL): He committed to San Francisco Sunday night after another big weekend. The smooth-shooting, high flying wing nearly has a flawless game. His shot is just so nice to watch.

James Gormley 7-0 ’19 C Central Park Christian (AL):  High end rebounder and shot blocker.

Jonnivius “Joe” Smith 6-10 ’19 F Huffman HS (AL): A lefty with a soft touch from outside. He has some major raw potential. His wingspan is crazy long and he is a great shot blocker.

Team Thad (4-0) TN

Jaykwon Walton 6-6 ’19 G Montgomery Carver HS (AL): This was the best I’ve seen him play. He was very good from deep and he was hard to be stopped offensively.

Dekeyvan “KyKy” Tandy 6-1 ’19 SG University Heights HS (KY): His offensive game makes you watch in amazement. He is an automatic scorer on all levels.

Antonio “Tone” Thomas 6-0 ’19 PG Ridgeway HS: Another player I like watching play. He is a great point that can run a team well.

Kameron “KJ” Jones 6-8 ’19 F Southwind HS: He put on a show Sunday with a display of dunks. He was a force around the paint and was hard to stop.

16U

Memphis Magic 16U (2-2)

Derek Fountain 6-7 ’20 G Holly Springs HS: It has been a while since I had a chance to see him play and his potential is crazy high. The long wing has guard skills and he was actually better when he was running the break.
