Notes

Sorry it took so long to get this on here. Thanks to the Crossroads Arena in Corinth for hosting this event.

Da House White (Pontotoc)

Da House White: Coach Ginn steps back onto the court after retiring years ago and he is picking up where he left off. His team plays very good together like a well oiled machine.

Jacarrius “Tootie” Standfield 5-8 Fr PG (Okolona): 4 ppg. A true guard that distributes well. Good at getting to the rim and creating for his teammates.

Cortavius Shelton 5-10 So G (Pontotoc): 7 ppg. A smooth, quick scoring guard with a good passing ability.

Jon Fleming 6-1 So F (Pontotoc): 8 ppg. Big body small forward with a good touch around the basket. He does the little stuff, garbage man.

Iverson Smith 5-10 So G (Ripley): 12 ppg. Another smooth, quick scoring guard with a good passing ability.

Michael Crump 6-3 So G (Baldwyn): 10 ppg. A long, lanky guard that can get to the rack or shoot from longe range. Great ability to block shots with the speed to hold the smaller guards. Crashed the boards well.

MS Shooting Stars (Tupelo)

Nigel Cole Fr G (Tupelo): 12 ppg. Fast guard that gets to the rim with ease. You can count on him to score whenever you need a basket. A good passer.

J-Rock Williams Fr G/F (Tupelo): 13 ppg. A scoring machine. The ball always seemed to go in.

Hogan Linzy 6-5 So G/F (Lafayette): 6 ppg. Very methodical , smart ball player. When I say smart, he has already scored a 32 on his ACT, as a sophomore. I could see him being an Ivy league player for sure. I bet his turnover rate is off the chart. Ball fakes, smart passes and outsmarting the opposing rebounders seemed to be his specialty. A soft touch lefty around the basket with a good 3 point shot as well. Not a flashy ball handler but good enough to get around the court when needed.

Walker Moreland 8th G (New Site): 4 ppg. Ice cold long range shooter that nailed a key 3 to tie the game.

MS Spartans (Corinth)

Quonn Mayes 6-1 Fr G (Corinth): 10 ppg. Strong, big body guard. Gets down the court fast. Reminds me a lot of Jitaurious Gordan of Horn Lake.

Tameron Patterson 5-9 Fr G (Corinth): 7 ppg. Shooter, shooter, shooter. Man can he get hot fast. Down 9 one minute, the next your up 3 with him.

Cole McGrath 5-11 Fr G (Corinth): 7 ppg. OK, wait. What is this dude doing on the court. He must be paying the Coach to play or something. First thought. Boy was I wrong. This dude can play. Long range shooter. A very solid player with tons of fundamentals. Seemed like there was no trap that he couldn’t escape from.

Michael McIntosh 6-4 8th F (Corinth): 7 ppg. Lanky forward with long reach. A great basketball body with a bright future ahead.

Dallas Gamble 6-0 Fr G (Booneville): 4 ppg. Nailed 2 clutch free-throws to win the championship game
