Natchez Bulldogs
This was a very surprising team for me. The Bulldogs are a talented, hard playing group of guys. Coach Haywood plays 10 guys that crash the offensive and defensive boards. His guys hustle and play a half and full court heavy pressure D loaded with tons of traps. The offense is a offense that works from the inside out. He uses his bigs to create open shots for the outside guys. Defensively, 6-5 2017 F/C Larry Griffin and 6-5 2017 F/C Elijah Hill provide a big presence down low. This is a really good Natchez team that wouldn’t surprise me to see them in Jackson making a run at the end.

Larry Griffin 6-5 2017 F/C 11 pts: The strong big guy has some good tools. He is a good shot blocker and a big defensive presence. He can step out and knock down 15 footers with ease. He plays hard around the basket. Griffin has a high motor. He can draw doubles and pass out to the open man for open shots.

Elijah Hill 6-5 2017 F/C 2 pts: A big defensive presence down low.
Chad Woods 5-10 2018 G 7 pts: Shooter, a very smooth guard.
Melvin Myles 6-2 2018 G 11 pts, 2 3’s: This man can fly. He has massive leaping ability. He is a smooth outside shooting lefty.
Izeacatrell “Izzy” Holmes 6-0 2018 G 13 pts: He is a big scoring threat off the dribble or from outside.

Dexter Graham 6-5 2018 F/C 5 pts, 7 reb, 2 st, 2 blk: A long lanky athletic F/C that plays with a high motor and hustles all out.
Vicksburg Gators
Coach Robinson has his guys working the ball around and playing very patient. This Vicksburg team is a pretty tough team to handle.

Kirk Parker 6-5 2017 F/C 11 pts: The big guy plays well around the basket. He has a big strong body and can work good in the post.

Coach Yancy is hurting while playing without his football guys. On the bright side, these younger guys are getting some experience and this will help them down the end.
Jarvis Renix 5-5 2017 PG 4 pts: Shifty lefty guard. He plays with a lot of heart.
Jermarcus Jones 6-6 2018 F/C 9 pts: One of the most talented players around but still a ways off from being elite. Keep working, don’t let up and he could be in the elite class.
Columbus Falcons
The Falcons are playing a very physical game under Coach Griffin. Columbus will need time to grow and gel with all the new and inexperienced players on the court.

Robert Woodard II 6-6 201 8G/F 21 pts, 5 blk, 4 ast: Woodard has developed into a more physical player. He is working out and is developing more every day.It is scary to see what he can become if he keeps developing.

Denijay Harris 6-6 2018 G/F 18 pts, 2 3’s, 6-6 ft: A long lanky big guy with some ball handling skills. The thing he is lacking is court time. He could end up being a big weapon to go along with Woodard.
Yazoo City Indians
Coach Peterson has a very fast and scrappy team loaded with guards. They are all over the place and can cause some problems for some teams. These guys are super fast.

Chavis Banks 6-6 2017 F/C 18 pts, 2 3’s: The big guy stepped out and showed some range.
Roosevelt Johnson 5-9 2017 G 15 pts, 3 3’s: A very fast guard that can get up the court and score.
Sam Johnson 5-10 2018 G 6 pts, 2 3’s: The younger brother to Roosevelt plays just like he does. Fast, all out and very speedy on defense. He played with tons of heart and hustle.
Neshoba Central Rockets
Coach Byrd has his Rockets looking close to what they were last year. Well that is not good or is it? Why are they not as good as last year? Neshoba has some new guys in the rotation and the yare learning the system. They are looking like they are in mid season form early on. They are going to be a big player in the 5A playoffs this year once they get everybody on the same page.

Chayton York 5-10 2017 G 31 pts, 15-17 ft: The elusive guard showed that he can get to the rim and finish over and under the big guys. He played all out and was very clutch.

T.J. Ben 6-3 2017 SG 17 pts: Great hands around the basket. He knocked down every open shot he took.
DeMarcus Webster 2018 G 10 pts: Another shooter that can really get up.
Bobby Anderson 2017 G/F 11 pts: Bobby is a slasher that can get to the rim. He hustles and is very athletic. He uses his speed on both ends of the court.

The host Tigers put on a show for the home fans. This is another team that will make a run in the playoffs.

Javian Fleming 6-9 2018 F/C 20 pts, 9-11 fg, 12 reb, 3 ast, 3 blk: The big man used his advanced footwork to show why he is the most sought after player in the state, scoring effieciently, rebounding and playing great defense for the home crowd.

Sebron Carter 6-4 2018 F/C 4 pts, 10 reb: His objective was to rebound, hustle and play D. He did that at a high level.
Damerius Wash 6-3 2018 G/F 37 pts, 9-12 fg, 4 3’s, 15-20 ft, 6 reb, 2 st: Who is this man? I watched a summer full of film on him and I never saw this side of him. He couldn’t miss. He was clutch going 13-14 from the ft line in the 2nd half and overtime. He nailed the three to tie the game and send it into overtime. He then scored the game winner in overtime. Both shots were buzzer beaters. He is very athletic and fast. He can get up and play above the rim.
