2018 Tangle on the Trail Report

2018 Pontotoc County Rotary Club’s 3rd Annual Tangle on the Trail

Pontotoc HS

Pontotoc, MS

The Tangle on the Trail is rapidly rising as one of the top events in the state. Coach Heard and everyone that helps with putting this event on are going above and beyond to grow it every year. Let’s look at the checklist to see how they compare to being a slam dunk event.

  1. College Coaches seating area. Check. Several chair seats along the baseline were host to many, many girls and boys Coaches from all divisions during the event.
  2. Media working area. Check. Media room and press conference room provided plenty of space for media to make the deadlines. They even had media tables set up court side for media to have a great view of the action. They also provided stats for every game at the media table.
  3. Hospitality room. Check. Catering provided as well as desserts and dips brought in by teachers, parents and volunteers.
  4. Program with rosters. Check. And the program was even free with your ticket purchase to get in,
  5. Access to players. Check. Volunteers would round up whatever players or Coaches that were needed for the media room.
  6. Game MVP’S. Check.
  7. Enjoyment factor for the fans. Check. Several highly ranked D1 prospects as well as college prospects in every game.
