#56, #6 North Panola (22-8) (Sardis) 43
#32, #2 St. Andrews Episcopal (25-6) (Ridgeland) 56
St. Andrews used a one-two punch to get past North Panola. A jab from Rashad Bolden (5-9 ’21 PG St. Andrews 20 pts, 15 in 2nd half, 4 3’s 4 ast 2 st) and a knockout blow from Garrison Wade (6-7 ’18 F St. Andrews 15 pts, 13 in 2nd half, 7-13 fg 17 reb, 13 in 2nd half, 3 ast 2 blk) put the Cougars away. North Panola is a team that’s about to be on a run. Just two weeks ago, Cedquavious “DaeDae” Hunter (5-9 ’22 G North Panola 7 pts) was playing in a middle school all-star game and now playing in the Big House.

Wow, what an intense game loaded with stat stuffers. Daquan “Quanny” Smith (6-2 ’18 G Holly Springs 26 pts 2 3’s 9 reb 4 ast 4 st) showed why he is one of the best in the state and he took the game over in the last minutes and overtimes. Cori Bell (6-1 ’20 G Holly Springs 21 pts 2 3’s 3 reb 3 ast 4 st) and Deveon Miller (6-5 ’19 PF Holly Springs 17 pts 7-9 fg 11 reb) both played very solid in the win. Crystal Springs give it everything they had in the loss. Crystal Springs got serious minutes from Kadadrius Crisler (6-3 ’19 G/F Crystal Springs 18 pts 2 3’s 10 reb 3 ast 6 st), Tyreonte Davis (6-4 ’18 F/C Crystal Springs 22 pts 4 3’s 10 reb 2 ast 4 st) and Roderick “Big Baby” Smith (6-8 ’18 F/C Crystal Springs 21 pts 10 reb 3 blk 2 st).

#54, #17 Southaven (17-13) (Southaven) 40
#2, #2 Meridian (31-1) (Meridian) 57
Southaven came to play and they had Meridian wondering what they had gotten themselves into. This game could’ve easily been the most lopsided game in 6A but it was way closer than the final indicates. Tyron “Ty” Brewer (6-6 ’18 F Meridian 14 pts 6-8 fg 10 reb 3 ast 2 st) helped lead the Wildcats to victory. Coach Wilson needs to find him a good hotel he likes in the Jackson area and work a deal out because Southaven is about to become a mainstay in Jackson over the next several years.

Great back and forth game between these two teams. In the end, Greenville ended up being on top. Danny Washington (5-11 ’19 PG Greenville 14 pts 2 3’s 2 reb 3 ast 4 st) nailed two free-throws to put the game away. Pascagoula will be back in Jackson next year.

#3, #3 Columbus (25-6) (Columbus) 41
#13, #6 Terry (20-8) (Terry) 38
Terry came in the same way Southaven did. They might be going down but you sure remember they were there. Terry has to be the most improved team from the first of the year until the end. Coach Scott did an amazing job with his guys over the season. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome Robert Woodard II (6-7 ’18 G/F Columbus 19 pts 8-13 fg 12 reb 3 blk) and Columbus.
