#12, #1 Coahoma County (29-4) (Clarksdale) 62

Coahoma County jumped out to a big lead stunning Bay Springs. Once Bay Springs realized what happened it was too late. They made a valiant effort to get back in the game but it fell short. Jai’Sheldon “Jai” Yates (6-5 ’21 F/C Coahoma County 14 pts 12 reb) had his normal game and played solid. Bentavious “Ben” Galmore (5-6 ’20 PG Coahoma County 10 pts 4-5 ft 6 reb 4 ast 4 st) had a sneaky solid game in his return fro man ankle injury. Markevious Phillips (6-3 ’19 G Coahoma County 16 pts 7-11 fg 7 reb 4 st) provided key and timely plays when Bay Springs was making a comeback. Kevin Grimes (6-3 ’19 G Bay Springs 19 pts, all in 2nd half, 3 3’s 6-8 ft 2 reb 4 st) had a big second half performance.

(B) #4, #1 Olive Branch (27-4) (Olive Branch) 64

#5, #2 Forest Hill (26-7) (Jackson) 44

Olive Branch came in ready to play and it earned them a State Title. De’Corian “DJ”Jeffries (6-8 ’19 G Olive Branch 20 pts 9-16 fg 2 3’s 5 reb 2 ast) looked like a five star player in the win. Joshua “Josh” Stevenson (6-2 ’19 G/F Olive Branch 8 pts 4-6 ft 7 reb 4 ast) was the unsung hero in the win but it was the play of Cameron “Mook” Matthews (6-6 ’20 F Olive Branch 10 pts 5-6 fg 5 reb 3 blk 3 st) on the defensive end that really solidified the game. Matthews showed that he can be a high level guy with his overall play.
