Notes: Noah Farrakhan (6-1 ’20 PG IMG) and Jaden Springer (6-5 ’20 G/F IMG) combined to go 17 of 25 from the floor as they refused to lose while IMG controlled the game from tip to buzzer. This was also a bittersweet game watching Austin Crowley (6-4 ’19 G Sunrise Christian/West Point) walk of the court for the last time. It’s been a pleasure seeing the Real AC develop into what he has become today. I first saw him during summer league games at ICC as a skinny young prospect. I saw the potential in what he could develop into and with proper moves he has developed into the high major player I thought he could. Thanks for the memories Austin. Sunrise and Coach Luke Barnwell will be in great shape next year with big N’Faly Dante (7-0 ’20 F/C Sunrise Christian) coming back. Dante is one of the premiere bigs in the country. It was also very nice to see one of my favorite sophomores in the country getting some court time. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield (6-9 ’21 G/F IMG) will be a problem for opponents next season.

Notes: Bishop Gorman used a very hot three-point shooting performance to force a double-overtime game. Keion Brooks (6-7 ’19 SF La Lumiere) and Isaiah Stewart (6-9 ’19 F/C La Lumiere) both stepped up big toward the end of the game to help lead LaLu to the semifinals.

Notes: Mady Sissoko (6-10 ’20 C Wasatch) might’ve had the best dunk of the tournament with a poster and-1 over big Kofi Cockburn (6-10 ’19 C Oak Hill). Sissoko really caught my eye with his play. Cole Anthony (6-2 ’19 PG Oak Hill) showed why he is one of the best players in the nation, if not the best overall, in the win for Oak Hill.

Notes: Montverde whipped IMG for the first three quarters before IMG decided to turn on the heat. IMG outscored Montverde 27-10 in the fourth quarter for the big comeback win. Freshman , Jarace Walker (6-6 ’22 G/F IMG) stepped up big in the fourth quarter push. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (6-9 ’19 PF IMG) nailed the dunk of the tournament with his game winning poster with 5.8 seconds to go. Harlond Beverly (6-4 ’19 G Montverde) contributed another dunk of the tournament nominee with a baseline drive and one-hand slam in the first half. Beverly really showed me something with his play in both games of the tournament. Precious Achiuwa (6-9 ’19 F Montverde) didn’t have the best tournament but he has a very bright future with whichever college he decides to attend.

Notes: Another semifinal game decided by one point. Oak Hill missed the last five shots of the game going for the win. Keion Brooks (6-7 ’19 SF La Lumiere) and Isaiah Stewart (6-9 ’19 F/C La Lumiere) both had big games to get La Lu to the championship game. Kofi Cockburn (6-10 ’19 C Oak Hill) didn’t have a dominating tournament but I still think he is one of the best bigs in the country. Cole Anthony (6-2 ’19 PG Oak Hill) also showed that he is one of the better passing guards in the country in this game when his shot wasn’t falling.

Notes: What is a traditional football school doing playing for the national championship? Winning it is what they are doing. IMG has a really good team and they are now in the conversation with the better programs in the country. I’m not sure where he is ranked nationally but Josh Green (6-6 ’19 G/F IMG) is underrated in whatever spot he’s in. He plays so smooth and never let’s the moment get to him. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (6-9 ’19 PF IMG) had a huge tournament run to help win the title of National Champions. Two other players that are much better than what I thought were Keion Brooks (6-7 ’19 SF La Lumiere) and Isaiah Stewart (6-9 ’19 F/C La Lumiere). I know both are highly rated and Brooks is going to Kentucky but they really got my attention. Stewart will make an immediate impact next year in college.
