MHSAA 4A 2nd Round

Schedule and Projections

Interesting 2nd Round Games

South Pike (19-8) #54 travels 96 miles to Forrest County (21-4) #57- The best individual matchup in the 2nd round. Top sophomore guard Ja’Borri McGhee and top senior guard Ashton Campbell will put on a show in this one.

New Albany (22-7) #39 travels 19 miles to Pontotoc (22-8) #35- Pontotoc gets a chance to avenge an early season loss. This will be a great game and I see Pontotoc getting the revenge.

Ripley (26-3) #15 travels 161 miles to Choctaw Central (22-10) #43- I had Choctaw winning this game in my preseason preview but Ripley will make this interesting. Ripley is a contender and Choctaw will have the home fans. Tough one to pick here.

Richland (21-6) #72 travels 22 miles to Raymond (22-7) #13- I had Richland making it deep into the playoffs early in the season. Taking a trip to Raymond will put an end to my predictions on that. Raymond is just on a different level.

Biggest Potential Upset According to MaxPreps Rankings

Ashton Campbell leads Forrest County in the home upset.
