From Okolona HS
Okolona, MS
(G) Booneville Lady Blue Devils (3A Booneville, MS) 71
Okolona Lady Chieftains (1A Okolona, MS) 37
Notes: Booneville is a very well balanced team. They have plenty of weapons they can hit you with on any given night. On this night, Taitiana Beene (’22 G Booneville 18 pts 7 reb 5 st) was the hot hand. Booneville also has plenty of young talent to spread out over the next few years too.
Shaniyah Farr (’23 G Okolona 23 pts 1 3’s 9 reb 2 ast 4 st) did everything she could do for the Lady Chieftains in the loss. She lead all scorers in the game with her 23.

Notes: Another well balanced Booneville team for Coach Michael Smith. He has about 6 or 8 guys that can drop 30 on you any given night. Then you have about 5 or 6 guys after them that will give you 12 every night. Kedrick Simmons (6-6 ’25 G Booneville 22 pts 1 3’s 9 reb 6 ast 2 blk 2 st) was the one on this night. He used his length and skill to post a huge night. He is the real deal and has a very bright future ahead for him. He can handle, shoot and play just about any position on the court. James Dukes (6-5 ’23 F/C Booneville 20 pts 6-7 ft 15 reb 1 ast 2 blk 2 st) had a very strong game down low. with his 20-15 split. Booneville is long, tall, skilled and very deep. James has a developing post game and is a high level free-throw shooter. Booneville is loaded with next level players that coaches need to see. They are an easy favorite to win 3A if these guys continue to grow and develop as a team over the season.
Okolona played a very solid game in the first half but didn’t have enough gas in the second to run with the Blue Devils. Dailin Cooperwood (6-4 ’22 G Okolona 22 pts 2 3’s 5 reb 2 ast 6 st) continues to put up big games. He put these numbers up in 3 quarters of play before fouling out in the middle of the second half.
