(G) East Union Lady Urchins (2A Blue Springs, MS) 62

Notes: East Union had a slow first quarter but gained speed in the second. They picked up the defensive tempo which lead to an abundance in steals. Katie Sherwood (’24 G East Union 11 pts 9 reb 4 ast 3 st) hustled her way to Player of the Game honors. She brought maximum effort and was all over the court.

Olivia Halford (5-6 ’24 Houlka 11 pts 5-6 ft 9 reb 1 blk 2 st) was a bright spot for Houlka with her play in the paint.

(B) Houlka Wildcats (1A New Houlka, MS) 82

East Union Urchins (2A Blue Springs, MS) 33

Notes: This is a fun Houlka team to watch. The get up and down the court and put plenty of shots up. Seth Winter (6-0 ’23 Houlka G 20 pts 4 3’s 7 reb 3 ast 1 blk 1 st) is a sniper that knocks the long ball down at a high clip. Jarell Hamilton (5-11 ’23 G Houlka 5 pts 1 3’s 1 reb 2 ast 2 st) is a nice point that didn’t have to do a lot in this game. Neal Moore (6-2 ’24 F Houlka 13 pts 3 3’s 7 reb 2 st) was feeling it off the bench. He knocked down several long balls. Kobe Atkinson (6-2 ’22 F Houlka 14 pts 1 3’s 3 reb 2 st) is a big, strong bowling ball that played with high energy.

Caleb Johnson (6-2 ’23 F/C East Union 13 pts 7-8 ft 10 reb 1 blk) had a strong game down low for the Urchins.
