From Hickory Flat HS
Hickory Flat, MS
(G) Hickory Flat Lady Rebels (1A Hickory Flat, MS) 60
Jumpertown Lady Cardinals (1A Booneville, MS) 53
Notes: Getting ready for this game I was excited to see the post play of the young bigs, Camri Westmoreland (6-1 ’24 F/C Hickory Flat 12 pts 9 reb 1 ast 1 st) and Ella Davis ( ’25 C Jumpertown 11 pts (9 in 2nd half) 10 reb 3 blk 3 st). They didn’t disappoint at all but the guards stole the show. I was really impressed with the battle between Morgan Green (5-3 ’24 G Hickory Flat 17 pts 1 3’s 4-5 ft 2 reb 3 ast 2 st) and Cheyanna Johnson (’23 G Jumpertown 14 pts (10 in 4th qtr) 8-11 ft (6-6 in 4th qtr) 6 reb 2 ast). Johnson is a shifty guard that did everything she could to keep Jumpertown in the game in the second half. Green really impressed me with her smooth game. The lefty has a really nice shot and has a serious eye for AND 1 style passes. She plays with that it factor. The difference maker in the game goes to the Magnolia Hoops Player of the Game, Vonnie Garner (5-5 ’23 G Hickory Flat 22 pts (15 in 2nd half) 3 reb 3 ast 3 st). She got in the lane with ease and scored most of her baskets with wide open half court layups. Elyse Goodwin (’23 F Jumpertown 11 pts 3-4 ft 9 reb 2 ast 1 blk 1 st) came off the bench to deliver a near double-double for Jumpertown.

Notes: Ty Webb (6-3 ’24 F/C Hickory Flat 22 pts 4-4 ft 7 reb 1 ast 4 blk 2 st) dominated every time he touched the ball in this game. When he had the ball in his hand it was going in the basket and that earned him the Magnolia Hoops Player of the Game honors. He has that knack for his hands finding the ball and his touch is soft around the basket. Logan King (5-9 G 11 pts (9 in 2nd half) 9-11 ft (all in 2nd half) 5 reb 2 ast 5 st) also stepped up big in the second half to help solidify the win for the Rebels. Jonah Warren (6-1 ’23 G Jumpertown 16 pts 12 reb 1 ast 1 blk 5 st) knocked down a double-double in the losing effort for the Cardinals.
