(G) Booneville Lady Blue Devils 17-1 (3A Booneville, MS) 65
Jumpertown Lady Cardinals 5-11 (1A Booneville, MS) 19
Notes: Jumpertown fought as hard as they could but just couldn’t hang with the 3A powerhouse. Sophomores Niyah Cook (6-1 ’25 C Booneville 14 pts 6 reb 3 ast 2 st) and Ava Kate Smith (5-7 ’25 G Booneville 15 pts (10 in 1st qtr) 1 three 2-2 ft 1 reb 3 ast 1 st) provided the firepower for Booneville on the semifinal night to advance the Lady Devils to the Championship game. Cheyanna Johnson (’23 G Jumpertown 10 pts 3 3’s 1 reb 1 ast 1 st) displayed a valiant effort for the Lady Cardinals.

New Site Royals 15-5 (2A New Site, MS) 37
Notes: Baldwyn was able to survive a late New Site push to advance to the Championship game. New Site was able to tie the game with 1:51 to go in the fourth at 37 on two made free-throws from Daniel Wildmon (5-11 ’24 G New Site 15 pts 1 three 4-4 ft 1 reb 1 ast 1 st). Rodney Stewart (5-11 ’23 F Baldwyn 6 pts 3 reb 2 st) was able to tip the ball away on the following New Site possession and it was snatched up by Trey Craven (’26 G Baldwyn 3 pts 1 three 1 reb 1 ast 1 st 1 charge taken) and swiftly lobbed down the court to Stewart to give Baldwyn a 39-37 lead. Nathan Shaw (6-1 ’24 C Baldwyn 14 pts 6-8 ft 6 reb 1 ast 2 st) was able to put the game away connecting on 3 out of 4 free-throws in the remaining seconds of the game to earn Player of the Game honors. Malachi King (5-11 ’23 G New Site 14 pts (8 in 4th qtr) 2 3’s 1 reb 1 ast 1 st) scored 8 of the 12 points for New Site in the comeback attempt.

(G) New Site Lady Royals 17-4 (2A New Site, MS) 37
Baldwyn Lady Bearcats 8-3 (2A Baldwyn, MS) 31
Notes: New Site scored the first basket of the game on a 3 by Gracie Yates (5-9 ’23 G New Site 12 pts 2 3’s 5 reb 1 ast 4 st 1 charge taken). They wouldn’t connect on another made field game until :13 seconds remaining in the half which was a 2 by Yates. The only other scoring the Lady Royals would get in the first half was a few more made free-throws to go into the break with a double-digit deficit. New Site appeared back on the court from the locker room ready to play after the break. Chloe Chism (5-11 ’25 G New Site 12 pts (6 in 4th qtr) 1 three 3-3 ft 7 reb 3 ast 4 blk 1 st), Brooklyn Hodum (5-8 ’24 G New Site 11 pts 1 three 3 reb 2 ast 5 st) and Yates helped lead the New Site with a comeback to continue the Lady Royal streak in the PCT Championship game to 16 years I believe. Sommer Tyes (5-9 ’23 F/C Baldwyn 13 pts 12 reb 2 st) posted a solid double-double in the loss.
The New Site Lady Royals would go on to win the tournament defeating Booneville 30-29.

(B) Booneville Blue Devils 16-2 (3A Booneville, MS) 81
Wheeler Eagles 9-7 (1A Wheeler, MS) 33
Notes: This game was a perfect example of why Booneville is the most dangerous team in 3A. You have a defensive mastermind genius on the bench for Wheeler in Coach Rick Howell and he figures out a way to slow the 3 “better” players down for Booneville. Then Coach Michael Smith hits you with a Dalton Jackson (5-9 ’25 G Booneville 18 pts 1 three 1-1 ft 1 reb 5 ast 4 st (all stats in 1st half)) and Landon Brown (6-3 ’24 G Booneville 20 pts (all in 1st half) 4 3’s 2 st) one-two 38 piece punch in the first half. Wheeler should feel no shame in this game or score because this Booneville team is good. Don’t count the Eagles out either. They are a pretty good team and will be a tough out in the playoffs.
Booneville would go on to win the Prentiss County Tournament beating Baldwyn 63-41.
